In this article, I'd like to tell you about Eyeliner Cosmetic Tattoo and what makes my approach unique. Each cosmetic tattoo artist has their own style, and here, I'll explain my techniques and the tools I use to create natural-looking, personalized eyeliner.
Eyeliner Cosmetic Tattoo involves gently implanting pigment into the skin in a very thin layer just below the surface. This creates a long-lasting, beautiful eyeliner effect. I use only certified and FDA-approved pigments to ensure your safety and minimize the risk of allergic reactions. These pigments are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, and historically produced from charring organic materials. They also boast excellent quality and stability, meaning the color won't change drastically over time. It will gradually fade to a lighter shade and eventually disappear in 3-7 years. For the tattooing process, I use a professional machine and ultra-fine, sterile Kwadrone needles made of surgical-grade stainless steel. These needles delicately deposit the pigment throughout the eyelid area, allowing me to create different styles depending on your eye shape and desired look.
Depending on the shape of your eyes different styles of eyeliner can be made.
LashLine Cosmetic Tattoo
This technique is ideal for those seeking a naturally fuller lash line without the appearance of obvious eyeliner. The pigment is precisely deposited between individual lashes at their base, creating a defined and youthful look. No line extends beyond the natural lash line, ensuring a seamless blend with your existing lashes. We can use black, dark grey (graphite), or brown pigments to match the color of your lash line tattoo to your natural lashes.
This approach is perfect for creating a subtle, natural boost to your lash line and enhancing your natural beauty. If you prefer a bolder look with a defined eyeliner, other eyeliner styles are available.
Eyeliner SPM (LashLine + Wing)
Thick Eyeliner or Lash Line
Creates a defined line along the lash line, and a few millimeters above. Wings are optional.
Eyeliner + Eyeshadow SPM
The eyeliner pigment is placed between the lashes and extends as a wing on the side of the eyelid. You can choose from black, brown, dark grey, blue, or green pigment depending on your desired effect.
The shape and thickness are custom-designed to flatter your individual eye shape and preferences, creating a dramatic and defined look.
Bottom LashLine Cosmetic Tattoo
This is a thin line where pigment is placed between your lashes. The design of the bottom lash line tattoo depends on the shape of your eyes and the length of your lashes. We can use black, dark brown, and graphite colors.
While all top eyeliner styles are done with your eyes closed, to get color on your bottom lash line, your eyes must be open. This can be slightly uncomfortable, but we'll take all necessary steps to ensure your comfort during the procedure.
Treatment
The appointment takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
On the day of your procedure, we'll have a consultation to discuss your desired eyeliner look and ensure you get the perfect style for your unique features. Following the consultation, I'll begin drawing (if needed) the design of your eyeliner to achieve symmetry.
We'll work together to determine the perfect shape and style. Once you're happy with everything, we'll proceed with the shading process.
Immediately after the procedure, your eyelids may appear slightly puffy and the ink color will be darker. Within the first 24 hours, expect mild puffiness, but usually no flaking or dryness. Avoid touching the area for the first 4 hours after the session. The eyeliner will soften and lighten by 10-30% in 4-6 days, with the true color and density revealed after the complete healing process of 4 weeks.
This shading method results in a soft, tinted look that's soft and natural-looking once healed. It adds great definition and depth to the eyes and can last from one to five years. Longevity depends on several factors, including your skin type, age, lifestyle, health condition, and sun exposure.
What is the aftercare like?
After your treatment, it's a time for rest and relaxation! For the first few hours, avoid touching your skin, especially around the eyes. To ensure optimal healing, keep the eye area clean and dry, using only water for gentle cleaning. Skip the gym and avoid sweating for the first 2-3 days. Additionally, for the next two weeks, steer clear of makeup around your eyes, including eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. Avoid saunas or steam rooms as well. Remember, the more care you take now, the happier you'll be with the final results!
The follow-up touch-up usually takes place within 4-8 weeks. During this session, we can add more thickness and definition to your eyeliner to achieve your desired look.
How many different colours are offered?
The basic color for the eyeliner cosmetic tattoo is black. Brown or grey can also be used for the eyeliner. The eyeshadow can be done using purple, green, brown, grey, or black. The pigment selection will be discussed before the treatment.
Does it hurt?
Don't worry about discomfort! The process is usually gentle, and most clients describe it as a mild scraping sensation. I prioritize your comfort throughout the procedure and offer options like numbing cream or topical anesthetic to ensure a pleasant experience. The pain level varies individually, but it's typically manageable.
You may feel a slight vibration during the tattooing process, but there's no bleeding. Many clients are surprised by how comfortable it is, often comparing it to lash extension treatment. As one client said, "It's more annoying than painful, and the results are absolutely worth it!"
Important
There are some restrictions on where we can deposit the pigment. It's safe to implant pigment starting with the first lash at the edge and ending with the last lash near the inner eye. We cannot deposit the pigment too close to the tear duct or the very edge of the eye, including the mucous membrane, as there's a risk the pigment may spread (see picture below):
The eyeliner can`t go to these areas: (see picture below):
The pigment will spread as the skin so thin, and close to the bone (see pictures below):
Can the needle injure (pop) my eyeball?
No, this is not possible. Your natural reflex will be to keep your eyes closed while I'm working near them. Additionally, I'm skilled at reading my clients' movements, and if you do happen to flinch or move unexpectedly, I can immediately move my arm away to ensure your safety. It's important to note that there have been no reported cases of eye damage from eyeliner tattooing in the cosmetic tattoo industry.
