Is dark circles camouflage tattooing the same as concealer?
Will it completely remove my dark circles?
Will it completely remove my dark circles?
No. Dark circles camouflage tattooing is designed to soften the appearance of dark under-eye circles, not erase them completely.
The pigment is placed very superficially into the skin, where it visually blends with your natural skin pigmentation. This can help brighten darker areas, soften blue, purple, grey or brown tones, and correct unwanted hues in the under-eye area.
However, this treatment does not work like concealer. Makeup sits on top of the skin and creates an opaque cover, while camouflage tattooing works within the skin to create a soft, natural-looking correction.
Realistic expectations are essential. The result should look subtle, natural and undetectable — a fresher, more even under-eye appearance rather than a completely covered or “made-up” effect.
Who is not suitable for this treatment?
Who is not suitable for this treatment?
This treatment may not be suitable if your under-eye darkness is mainly caused by puffiness, deep hollowness, eye bags, loose skin, active skin conditions, vascular issues, or strong structural shadows.
Dark circles camouflage tattooing is also not recommended for Fitzpatrick skin types IV–VI, especially for clients who are prone to hyperpigmentation after skin trauma, inflammation, acne, scratches, waxing, laser, or other skin treatments.
Darker and more reactive skin tones have a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and pigment-related complications, which means the treated area may become darker rather than lighter.
A consultation is required to assess your skin tone, skin history, under-eye darkness, healing response and whether this treatment is appropriate for you.
