Payment Options for Insurance-Covered Treatments Upfront Payment by Insurance An invoice will be issued for the scheduled treatment. Your insurance provider is expected to process payment in advance. If payment is not received by the appointment time, the session will be rescheduled.
Client Payment with Reimbursement You may pay for the treatment on the day of your session. An invoice will be provided so you can submit it to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

At the clinic, we provide all the necessary documentation to help you apply for reimbursement of the treatment cost, allowing eligible clients to receive the service free of charge. To qualify, your specialist or GP will need to provide a current medical certificate confirming whether your brow hair loss is temporary or permanent.
Who it’s for
You may claim for this service if you:
are a New Zealand citizen or ordinarily resident in New Zealand; and
have a medical condition that has caused hair loss (such as cancer treatment, alopecia, or another autoimmune condition).

However, please note that the subsidy application is your responsibility.
We do not work directly with the Ministry of Health — our role is to provide the documents and information they require.
During your consultation, we will explain exactly what your GP needs to include in the medical certificate to support your application. Please be aware that if your GP does not provide a sufficient diagnosis of hair loss, the Ministry of Health may decline your application.
Therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your GP’s medical assessment or the Ministry’s final decision.
Our role is solely to provide the cosmetic eyebrow tattoo service.
Is eyebrow tattooing suitable before, during or after chemotherapy?
Eyebrow tattooing may be suitable before, during or after chemotherapy or radiotherapy, but only with approval from the oncology team managing the client’s treatment.
For some clients, brow tattooing before treatment can help create natural-looking brow definition before hair loss occurs. For others, it may be considered during or after treatment, depending on skin condition, immune response, healing ability, medication, and the timing of chemotherapy or radiotherapy sessions.
Because cancer treatment can affect the skin, healing, infection risk and pigment retention, medical clearance is essential. A consultation is recommended to assess timing, skin condition, expectations and whether brow tattooing is appropriate at that stage of treatment.
What can I expect during healing?
Dasha, with over a decade of experience in cosmetic and medical tattooing, has crafted a unique technique for applying cosmetic brow tattoos, resulting in a virtually scab-free healing process for most clients.
They describe the healing as very easy, requiring no specific maintenance and causing minimal discomfort.
Even for those with dry skin types, only very slight flaking might occur, and even that is usually not noticeable.
Is eyebrow tattooing painful?
Dasha's techniques are very gentle. In fact, it's less painful than treatments like waxing or hair removal. Most clients find the experience comfortable enough to even nap during the treatment. However, for those with very low pain tolerance, Dasha offers medical-grade numbing cream for additional comfort.

How long does eyebrow cosmetic tattoo last?
While often referred to as "permanent," eyebrow cosmetic tattoos generally last several years, but the duration varies depending on several factors:
Age: Mature skin tends to retain pigment longer.
Skin type: Dry skin typically holds pigment better than oily skin.
Lifestyle: Sun exposure can fade pigment faster, so frequent outdoor exposure may shorten the lifespan.
What is the price for a touch-up session for brows done elsewhere?
Can I get a touch-up session for my existing microblading done elsewhere?
Sure, we can certainly help maintain your existing brow tattoo, even though it was done elsewhere.
However, if your current brown brows have a bluish, grayish, reddish, or purplish shade, we'll need to remove that unwanted color first. Dasha can use either laser or non-laser techniques to lighten or remove the unwanted color effectively.
The Nd:Yag laser can specifically target and invert blue colors to a warm brown, or red colors to a cool grayish shade. This process depends on the chemical composition of the pigment used in your initial tattoo.
Color correction using neutralization pigments is often not recommended as the brows may revert to their dominant color over time.
Can I remove my existing brows and get a new set at the same time?
Unfortunately, removing your existing brows and receiving a new set simultaneously is not possible.
After the tattoo removal session, your skin requires sufficient healing time. If the first removal treatment successfully removes unwanted colour or shape, a minimum waiting period of two months is necessary before receiving a new cosmetic eyebrow tattoo.
Do you offer microblading as a service for eyebrows?
Microblading: This method uses a handheld tool with tiny blades to create fine, hair-like strokes. While it can achieve realistic and fresh results immediately, the healed results may not be as impressive and sometimes carry a risk of micro-scarring.
Shading & Hairstroke Techniques: These techniques utilize professional cosmetic tattoo machines and needles to create both shading and hair-like strokes. This approach offers a more natural and long-lasting result with minimal scarring risk. Microblading results typically last 6 to 12 months.
Classic cosmetic tattoo, using both shading and hair stroke techniques, provides a more natural and long-lasting result with a lower risk of scarring. The results can last from 1 to 5 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and health condition.
We don't offer the microblading technique. Dasha specializes in shading and hairstroke techniques, which are performed using professional cosmetic tattoo machines and needles.
How many tattoo removal treatments are needed to remove my microblading / brow cosmetic tattoo?
The number of treatments needed depends on several factors:
1. Number of past cosmetic tattoo treatments: Each previous session adds layers of pigment, requiring more removal sessions.
2. Your skin type: Lighter skin tones respond better to laser removal than darker ones.
3. Type of pigment used: Different pigments respond differently to removal techniques.
